Xiaomi mi max reviewHi,

The color is very nice very delicate Champagne.

The Mi Max is a well-crafted device.
The front LCD panel is Gorilla Glass 4 with 2.5D edges.
The sides of the back are more rounded, which makes nice feel when you hold it in the hand.
The phone is really thin – 7mm only!

On the top front of this monster phone are placed earpiece and two circles – a 5MP selfie camera on the right and a proximity sensor on the left.
The notification light is invisible when it’s off (which is very cool).

Below the screen are three capacitive buttons: the App Switcher, Home and Back.
I really like dedicated buttons!

The fingerprint sensor is located on the back and even at this size is easy to reach it.
It can automatically unlock the phone or take a selfie image.
On the top left back corner is 16MP camera and next to it dual LED flash.

On the right side of the Mi Max are located volume buttons and below them the Power button.
On the left top side is the SIM tray.
You can use 2 SIMs and one and SD card.
My unit has 64GB internal space but there is also 32GB and top model – 128GB.

At the top of the Xiaomi Mi Max are the 3.5mm audio jack, the secondary mic and an IR blaster.
At the bottom are a regular microUSB 2.0 port and two grilles. Only one of them hides the speaker.

Now lets talk about battery.
The huge 4,850mAh battery of the Xiaomi Mi Max will love to any multimedia user.

On standby only it can last for 20 days!
Anyway with moderate using will do 3days.

The shipset supports Quick Charge 3.0 unfortunately it’s not activated by Xiaomi Xiaomi mi max review

Now it’s time for first system start.
The phone came with MIUI 7 but I immediately upgrade it to MIUI 8 because i find it more useful.

I wont speak about MIUI because i did it many time in previous reviews.
It’s user friendly with lot of features that for me are enough even for hard customizing users (like me).
The useful feature is Double Tap to Wake but you need to activate it in Display settings.

So let see the performance.
My Mi Max has 3GB of RAM and 64GB internal space.
it’s powered by Snapdragon 652.
The difference between the 650 and 652 is the core count.
The first has six cores (2x A72 + 4x A53), while the other has eight adding two extra A72 cores.
The GPUs are the same on both chipsets.

So here are the test results:

Geekbench:

As you can see the results are pretty good for mid-range phone!
I’m playing N.O.V.A 3 without any lags. The game runs smooth even on heavy graphics mission with lot of users.

Now lets check the sound of this great device.
The sound loudspeaker produces a clean and loud sound, but the bass is missing.
This is not big deal because the headphones output provides great quality of audio.
Even in high volume up the sound is without distortions.
Of course you should use some quality headphone.
I recommend Mi Pro.
They are cheap but are competitive with branded ones like AKG, Sennseiser which are more then 80 euro!
So if you like to listen good quality music by one of these.
Also if you have Xiaomi headphones you can use build-in audio settings where you can select what exactly headphones you have and the phone will provide automatically best audio levels!

Now lets see the camera performance.
The Xiaomi Mi Max comes with a 16MP camera that features phase detection autofocus, f/2.0 lens and sports a dual-LED, dual-tone flash. On the front is a 5MP selfie cam with an 85° f/2.0 lens.
In MIUI 8 you can set selfie camera to 16×9 format which wasn’t available in MIUI 7.
he camera is very good for a 5MP shooter. Images are detailed (if a bit noisy), focus is good, colors are good too.

Selfie camera images:

The video quality that camera provides is also good.
We can shot even at 4K.
Of course we cant get great results in low light conditions but only high-range phones can have some better results.

Conclusion:

Mi Max is the largest phones on the market you can buy today, with a battery that match it’s size. Battery life is great with one and two SIMs,
Great performance for the class, even for the Snapdragon 650 version;
the MIUI running is smooth with 3GB RAM; since the S652 model has the same GPU, so splurging on the S652 chipset and more RAM is mostly for enthusiasts
Loudspeaker performance is Average but wired audio is perfect – loud and with very little distortion even with headphones.

So if you like big phones like me go for Mi Max.
You wont find better one for this price range!
