Huawei Pay might arrive in Europe

More than a year after the launch of Huawei Pay in China, the service might expand to Europe as well. The manufacturer filed for a trademark with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) of the name "Huawei Pay" and of an accompanying logo. According to a pdf at the EUIPO website that can be found in our Source link, the logo, and the name are referring to computer software and financial services, leading to the conclusion that the service may indeed arrive in Europe, instead of Huawei just securing a patent to protect the name of its in-house wallet. Xiaomi Redmi 5A announced: very low price, very few changes

A couple of months after the unveiling of the Redmi Note 5A it's time for the more petite model to come one stage - meet the Xiaomi Redmi 5A. The phone will start at just CNY 600 ($91/€77), the same price tag that the 4A carried before it. It is one of the most affordable Androids, period. On this tight budget, you get a 5" screen with 720p processor and a basic Snapdragon 425 chipset. The phone runs the new MIUI 9 and comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB storage. You can add a microSD card if you need more storage (there's a hybrid dual SIM slot). The Redmi 5A has a 13MP main camera (f/2.2)...

vivo confirms all-black Mars Edition X20 variant

vivo recently confirmed the unveiling date for its upcoming X20 smartphone - September 21. Today, the Chinese manufacturer has shared some new teasers for the device that suggest a special, all-black Mars Edition will debut alongside the standard X20. There's currently no information what other changes (aside from the color) this Mars variant features. A change in screen or chipset is unlikely but it may come with different RAM and storage combo. We expect the X20 to be powered by a Snapdragon 660 chipset with 6GB RAM and sport a 5.8-inch display of 1080x2160 pixel...

Oppo A7x quietly unveiled – an F9/F9 Pro version with bigger storage

Say "hello" to the Oppo A7x... or is it "hello again"? This is a variation on the Oppo F9, which adds a new storage capacity and changes a few things. There's only one storage option - 128GB - which is strangely paired with only 4GB of RAM. We say "only" as the F9 gives you the option of 4GB or 6GB RAM, but its storage tops out at 64GB. Also, the 25MP camera of the F-phone has been swapped for a 16MP f/2.0 shooter. The 16+2MP rear camera remains unchanged, however. Unfortunately, the VOOC fast charging seems to have been disabled as well. Oppo A7x in Starry Purple and Twilight...

HMD Global is holding an event in India on December 6, Nokia 7.1 might be the star

HMD Global has just announced an event in India on December 6, for which it's already started sending out media invites. The event comes just one day after another one that the company is hosting in Dubai, where it's expected to unveil three smartphones. At least one of those will probably also be introduced in India the following day. Rumor has it that it will be the Nokia 7.1, but the Nokia 7.1 Plus was also seemingly teased by HMD's Indian arm, so both could be in the mix. Note that the Nokia 7.1 Plus is supposedly going to be the global version of the China-only X7, but may end up...
