Top 10 trending phones of week 35

The IFA 2017 announcements just passed and plenty of new phones were announced. But the trending phones list welcomed only one of the new devices - the LG V30. Samsung Galaxy Note8 is still on top and is nowhere near losing the lead with more than half the interest than the Moto G5S Plus that sits in second. The updated version of Moto G5 that Lenovo launched in India stirred some interest, and its position in the Top 3 is not a surprise. Moto G5S Plus managed to make the Nokia 6 and Galaxy J7 Pro drop one position, and the iPhone 6s wraps up the Top 5. In the bottom half, we see...

A case maker leaks an iPhone SE 2 render – iPhone X-like display with a notch

Despite plenty of evidence that a successor to the iPhone SE isn't coming, the latest bits of information coming from case maker Olixar, makes us think otherwise. The render shows an iPhone X-like screen with a notch on the top and a familiar chassis design dating back to the iPhone 5s, which is in line with the leaked photos of the device's casing last month. However, this leak raises the question of will it have a Touch ID fingerprint sensor? And if not, will the notch incorporate all the needed tech for the Face ID introduced with the iPhone? In any case, we should take this...

vivo NEX rumor roundup: pricing for both models, some photos and a benchmark

The vivo NEX phones will show that there's no need for notches, even if a phone has thin bezels. The base model will be powered by Snapdragon 710 while NEX S will be the flagship with the top S845 chip. Early information from the rumor mill suggests that the base model will cost CNY 3,800 ($590/€500) while the S flagship will be CNY 4,500 ($700/€600). That's with 8 GB of RAM and a generous 256 GB of storage for the Snapdragon 845 version. Don't forget that the NEX S will be the only version with an under display fingerprint reader. vivo NEX pricing info • vivo NEX live...

Sony Xperia XZ2 comes a month earlier to the UK market

Sony's premium flagship offering has been out in the news since early 2018, but it just started hitting the shelves. First stop was the US charging a price premium ($999) and was expected to hit the UK stores at the end of September. However, a British online retailer claims to have the phone in stock a month early. Unlocked Mobiles is currently selling the Xperia XZ2 Premium and offers international shipments as well. Unfortunately, the only color option is Chrome Black and the same goes for the storage configuration - 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The asking price of the...

iPhone 8 to be out in October-November with iris scanner, sans side-mounted TouchID

The famed and hyped iPhone 8 with its near-bezelless OLED display can't seem to keep itself out of the news, not even for a day. A new report out of Asia, based on supply chain sources, now tells us that this model will only start shipping in October or early November (in very limited numbers), though it will probably be unveiled alongside the iPhone 7s and 7s Plus at a launch event that's slated to occur on September 7, 8 or 9. Those devices may be released on September 17 (but that's a Sunday and Apple usually starts sales on a Friday, so take this with a grain of salt). The sometimes...
