Google Assistant integration may be coming to Android Messages

As per a report from XDA-Developers, Android Messages is testing Google Assistant integration so more people will use it. With the general public's dwindling interest in using Allo, Google promised to turn its focus away from Allo and put the energy towards improving the experience on Android Messages, Android's default SMS app. In its current testing state, you can only summon Google within conversations and there is no way to Chat directly with Google Assistant like you can on Allo. XDA was able to get Google Assistant to only respond with recommended restaurants and the...

OnePlus 5T Portrait Mode teased through newly outed camera sample

Earlier today we showed you a leaked press render depicting the top half of the upcoming OnePlus 5T, and now the smartphone is back in the news again. This time, OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei took to Twitter to tease us with a camera sample from the yet-unannounced device. While he doesn't outright say that the image was shot with the 5T, it's pretty obviously implied. The picture shows Portrait Mode at work in OnePlus' next handset, and of course it looks impressive - it is, after all, a teaser released by a company exec. It would be weird if it didn't look good. "What phone is he taking...

ZTE to announce Blade V9 with 18:9 screen and Snapdragon 450 at MWC

ZTE managed a pretty rare feat back in December - leaking one of its own upcoming devices. The phone in question is the Blade V9, which got listed on the company's official website for Spain. That was obviously pulled quickly but we still grabbed some official images and the full specs nevertheless. According to an unnamed source speaking to Android Headlines, the Blade V9 will finally become official at MWC, when ZTE plans to unveil it for the world to see. The handset is expected to be "quite affordable", which makes sense given the Blade line's legacy and its non-flagship specs. The...

We caught a glimpse of the Galaxy A5 (2018) and the Galaxy A7 (2018), now it's time for a better look. Check out the 18.5:9 Infinity Display on the front, it makes the phones look premium. Benchmark results so far have failed to reveal the resolution, but we're probably looking at 1080p - or rather 1,080 x 2,220px to match the aspect ratio. Samsung Galaxy A (2018) with Infinity Display Around the back we find a single camera (dual camera will likely land on the 2019 model). The fingerprint reader is better positioned than on the Note. It's still fairly close to the camera, but we...

The LG G7 could be in for a late April to early May release in South Korea and it will likely cost around €80 more than the LG G6, or around €700. The G7 will incorporate the LG V30 ThinQ's AI camera but will have the Snapdragon 845 chipset along with an OLED screen with a notch on the top. Rumor has it LG has a G7+ in the works as well and that it will cost €760. As is the LG norm, the plus version will not be an entirely new device, but will simply offer more RAM and storage. Source
