Sony unveils Metal Gear Solid-themed Xperia J1 Compact for Japan

Sony is saying goodbye to Hideo Kojima with the Xperia J1 Compact Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Edition. The phone is limited to Japan only – Sony's first SIM-free phone for its home country and essentially an Xperia Z1 Compact variant. This one is special though – it features the Outer Heaven logo on the back that fans of Solid Snake & Co will instantly recognize. Meizu CEO says that the Meizu 16X will be the same as Meizu 16 with different SoC

Meizu CEO Jack Wong has proven to be very open about the company's future products. For example, most of the hardware that the Meizu 16 and 16 Plus offer was already known prior to their release. And almost all of the info came straight from the CEO himself. In a recent community discussion the CEO, gave away some important details about the upcoming Meizu 16X smartphone - a mid-range alternative to the recently released flagships from the same lineup. Samsung Galaxy Note8 pre-orders in India start on September 11

The Samsung Galaxy Note8 is set to start selling in the US, UK and Europe, Canada and Australia on September 15 while Indian buyers will be able to pre-order the Galaxy Note8 starting September 11. The phone is set to start shipping the first week of October. The phone will be an Amazon India exclusive outside of Samsung's own online store. The projected price of the Galaxy Note8 will be INR 74,900 (around €990). The price looks about right considering that the Samsung Galaxy S8+ costs around INR 66,000. Thanks for the tip! Source



Oreo for Honor 7X begins rolling out in US

As promised by the company, the Honor 7X Oreo update has started rolling out in the United States. Arriving as EMUI 8.0, the update brings along several enhancements (in addition to the usual Oreo goodies, of course). The list includes the face unlock feature, a new floating navigation dock, updated Setting menu and Phone Manager, phone gallery recycle bin, as well as ability to connect with two Bluetooth devices at same time. Android 9 Pie update is now rolling out to some Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite units

Xiaomi's Mi A2 Lite is part of the Android One program and launched this summer running Android 8.1 Oreo, but a beta build of Android 9 Pie was made available by the company a couple of weeks ago. It looks like there weren't any huge issues with it, because now the stable update to Pie is rolling out to some Mi A2 Lite units in the wild.
