Qualcomm snapdragon 830 is comingWhile Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 chipset is dominating the flagship smartphone market this year, a fresh leak points to the next in line Snapdragon chipset, the Snapdragon 830. Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 was kind of let down for many people out there and it had some weird issues. Though the Snapdragon 820 performed quite well and it gave complex to the other high-end CPUs like Exynos 8890.

A Zaube import sheet of Qualcomm’s developer LAB EQUIPMENT  confirms that the Snapdragon 830 will be coming with LPDDR4X on board. It is a big upgrade for the chipset cause LPDDR4X uses half power compared to its predecessor, LPDDR4. In December 2014, we have seen similar kinds of test equipment with MSM8996 shipped to India and then on March 2015, Qualcomm announced the Snapdragon 820 chipset. So we can expect a Q4 announcement of the Snapdragon 830 chipset alongside with the launch of Snapdragon 821/823 this year.

Previously we have seen a Microsoft product description page has accidentally leaked this info by listing the Snapdragon 830  (Now removed) which could suggest the processor featuring on a future Windows smartphone. Users can expect to see the first set of devices come equipped with the new Snapdragon 830 in 2017.

Snapdragon 830 (msm8998) Specifications

According to the folks over at China and Wccftech the Snapdragon 830 will come with an internal Codename of MSM8998. The latest leak reveals that the new processor, dubbed Snapdragon 830 is expected to come with an enhanced Kryo custom architecture. It will also be built based on Samsung’s 10nm manufacturing process. The move to decrease the 14nm to the 10nm in the Snapdragon 830 is expected to bring enhanced performance and a reduction in power requirements based on the familiar physical footprint. Additionally, the Snapdragon 830 is expected to bring the same dual-configuration that is built in the Snapdragon 820.
