New Acer Iconia Tab 10 sports a quantum dot display, four speakers and a sub-woofer

Acer unveiled the Iconia Tab 10 (A3-A50) – a tablet with a 10″ quantum dot display. This tech is used by Sony in its flagship phones (but not tablets, it seems), its Triluminos TVs too. It’s what Samsung calls QLED and what Philips uses it its Color IQ TVs.

What’s the big deal? Quantum dots sit between LCD and OLED displays. Compared to LCDs, they are brighter, have higher contrast, offer more colors and use less energy. In TVs, a quantum dot display is often paired with HDR capability, but Acer is mum on the subject.
