Oppo F9 will come with a Pro version, passes Bluetooth certification

There will be a successor to the Oppo F7 after all despite the existing phone being fresh on the shelves since this spring. The latest teaser from Oppo that appeared online suggests that the handset will be coming very soon so an August launch seems plausible. From the teaser, we can conclude that the device will come with a double camera setup on the back and historically, the phones from the F-series have been mostly selfie-centric so we can expect an upgrade to the front-facing snapper as well. Meanwhile, the F9 has popped up on the Bluetooth certification website hinting at...

Xiaomi left out the headphone jack on the Mi 6 for bigger battery

Last month, Xiaomi announced the Mi 6 in China. Upon closer inspection it was revealed that the phone does not have a headphone jack, like so many others in the past year. When asked why, Xiaomi had the same reason to give as Apple. According to the quote given to Android Central, not having the headphone jack allowed Xiaomi to make space for other components, such as a bigger battery. Indeed, the Mi 6 has a larger 3350mAh battery over the 3000mAh on the Mi 5 despite being roughly the same size. With the headphone jack gone, the Mi 6 now relies on the USB-C connector to output audio...

Google redesigns emoji (again) for Android O

If there is one thing you can be sure of to find in a new version of Android now, it's a new set of emoji. The redesign in 7.0 made the facial expressions more in line with what Apple is doing with the iOS emoji set, which is the most popular and commonly used one at the moment. Android O goes one step further and drops the gumdrop shape entirely in favor of completely round emoji set that look even more like...

iPhone X retail box shows up on Apple’s site

Perhaps unwittingly, Apple has revealed the retail box of the iPhone X. The front of the box highlights the unique screen of the flagship while the boxes for the 8 and 8 Plus show the glass backs of the phones. The iPhone 7 box also showed the rear of the devices, same for the iPhone 6 generation - the 6s in between did show the front, however. So, Apple has no firm rule about which side of the device should be put on the front of the box. Anyway, you can check out the prices of the iPhone X around the world here. Pre-orders begin at the end of the month (October 27) and sales...
