Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) is the world’s first quad camera smartphone

Samsung is introducing the world's first phone with a quad camera on the back - the Galaxy A9 (2018). It comes shortly after Samsung's first triple camera phone, the Galaxy A7 (2018), and builds on it with the addition of a telephoto camera. Between it and the ultra-wide angle camera, you can choose to focus on a detail or capture more of the scene. The tele camera offers 2x optical zoom over the main camera and captures 10MP images. The main camera is a 24MP shooter with a bright f/1.7 lens, suitable for daylight and nighttime shots. The 120° ultra-wide angle camera sports an 8MP...

LG G6 vs. LG G5: quad-cam comparison

One of the more fun takes on the dual-cam concept, the G5's normal/ultra-wide setup was easily the best bit about LG's last year flagship (after the modular concept got scrapped). The brand new LG G6 is taking the concept even further by improving the ultra-wide angle one. Instead of a 16MP/8MP setup, the two cameras on the G6 are now equipped with identical sensors - the 13MP Sony IMX258 Type 1/3.06" imager with 1.12µm pixels. Once again we have two quite different lenses - one is an ultra wide-angle one with f/2.4 aperture and 125-degree coverage, the other is an f/1.8...

LG Q6 launched in India

LG has officially launched the Q6 in India. The phone is being sold exclusively through Amazon India. The LG Q6 is modelled after LG's current flagship smartphone, the G6. The Q6 looks nearly identical from the front, with a near edge to edge glass with curved corners. It even has an aluminum frame with increased impact protection. The main attraction here is the display. Following the same 18:9 aspect ratio as the G6, the 5.5-inch display on the Q6 has a resolution of 2160x1080, more than any other phone in its class. It's worth mentioning here though that while the Q6 display...

Gionee S10 leaks again, showing all of its 4 cameras

While Gionee is gearing up to announce the S10 smartphone it's making the rounds in the rumor mill, this time showing itself in live photos. The device is pictured in typical low quality, but we do get to see a few key aspects of its design. For starters it's the Gold variant and it looks inline with the images leaked from its TENAA showing. Gionee S10 The Gionee S10 has two cameras on the back and what looks like two more on the front. The back cameras are reportedly 13MP while on the front there's either a 16MP clever dual-camera or a combination of 20MP + 8MP. We advise you...

New teardown shows us the innards of the Huawei P10

The Huawei P10 is the Chinese phonemaker's latest major smartphone release. Think of it like a smaller version of the Huawei Mate 9. Much smaller, in fact. The major difference between the Mate 9 and the P10 besides the size and battery capacity is the omission of an IR-blaster on the P10, which totally would have put the cherry on top. Left: Inside of the rear metal backing. Right: Chassis sandwiched between components and display. Source: MyFixGuide Anyway, back to the teardown. Since the P10 has a 5.1-inch screen, you can imagine that Huawei had to accommodate identical internals...
