HMD considers a 4G Nokia featurephone for India

HMD will not bring the 3G Nokia 3310 (2017) to India, saying that the local market lacks interest in 3G phones. Yet, in an interview Ajey Mehta, Vice President of HMD Global for India divulged that HMD is considering making a 4G featurephone. He referenced Reliance Jio's JioPhone, an affordable 4G featurephone that's making an impact on the market. If you have a bootlooping Nexus 6P, there’s finally a fix

Late-last year, many folks reported of a software issue where the Huawei Nexus 6P entered a bootloop stage where the device wouldn't proceed past the "Google" Logo upon firing up the device. Not even factory resetting the device would fix the issue. An unofficial fix has come from XDA members: XCnathan32 and rchtk. The fix required you to download and flash a few modified system image files which circumvent the bootloop by disabling the larger CPU cluster. For some reason (which is still unknown), the larger CPU cluster isn't let the phone function properly, so the modified boot.img file...



Vive Focus standalone VR headset launches in the West at $600

HTC announced the Vive Focus - its first standalone VR headset - a year ago, but all this time it was available only in China. No more, the Focus is going global to match its "world-scale" capabilities. This headset will be available in 37 markets and will cost $600 in the US (note that the regular Vive for PC is $500). Huawei Mate 9 updated with Amazon Alexa

Huawei is happy to announce that its integration with Alexa is finally coming into fruition. Today, Huawei will push an OTA to Huawei Mate 9 customers in the US. This update will enable the Huawei Alexa app, where you'll be able to tell your commands to Alexa.
