YotaPhone 3 teased, YotaPhone 2 gets Marshmallow

Yota Devices, the Russian company behind the dual-screen YotaPhone and YotaPhone 2 smartphones, has started teasing their new device. The teaser doesn't reveal much about the device's design, apart from suggesting that it'd also be a dual-screen phone. Expected to be called YotaPhone 3, the handset - as the teaser clearly says - will be up for pre-order sometime this summer. Meanwhile, the YotaPhone 2, which was launched way back in February 2014 with Android KitKat on board (v4.4.3), has now started receiving the Marshmallow update Source | Via | Yota

Video shows Meizu Pro 7’s rear screen in action

The result shows an Exynos 8895-powered Galaxy S8 running the new major version of Android. The score is solid though not any faster than what the phone achieves on 7.0 Nougat. Samsung has not announced an official schedule for the jump to Oreo for its flagships - the S8 duo and the Note8 are likely first in line, followed by the S7 duo. Source

Google Assistant now has a less obtrusive UI in Google Maps

The Google Assistant wants to be your co-pilot - earlier this year it landed on Android Auto, now it's rolling out to Google Maps for Android as well. It seems that this feature is enabled for some (but not all) users who have updated to version 10.4.1 of Maps. To summon the Assistant you either use the "Hey, Google" hot word or tap on the microphone. In either case, an unobtrusive panel slides up from the bottom. Any actions won't cover up the map - e.g. starting a call or sending a message keeps the dialer and messaging apps in the background so you always have a clear view of the...
