Deals: Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact for £300, Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 for £434

The Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact was replaced by the XZ2 Compact last month, but that just means it's time for some bargain hunting. An eBay deal offers a new unit for £300. The best deals for its successor are around £520, so there are significant savings. You can grab an XZ1 Compact from here. Note that this is only for the Twilight Pink color option, which isn't particularly pink. You can use our specs difference tool if you're wondering about the pros and cons of each model. In short, the screen isn't as sharp and the chipset is a generation behind, but we're still talking about a...

CEO: Huawei Watch 3 is coming, but not soon

Huawei CEO Richard Yu wants you to know that his company is working on the a third generation smartwatch. No, it's not coming anytime soon, this is just an FYI. According to Yu, the Watch 2 sells well and there's no need to hurry. The Watch 2 was unveiled at MWC 2017 and some expected to see the 3rd edition this year. Clearly, this didn't happen and there were no new Huawei phones either (the P10 was another MWC 2017 announcement). The P20 phones are coming on March 27, but from Yu's comments it sounds unlikely that they will be accompanied by a smartwatch. IFA in September is the next...

TENAA reveals the true specs of ZTE nubia NX595J

It turns out that just about nothing in yesterday's rumor about the ZTE nubia NX595J was true. First off, the phone very much has bezels - ample ones - and it has a relatively small screen. It does have a dual camera though the design is completely different. We turn to TENAA for the accurate truth. The NX595J has a 5.2" screen (1080p LCD) and measures 148 x 72.1 x 7.95mm, clearly not a "bezel-less phone". You can clearly see the fingerprint reader below the display. 256GB Galaxy Note8 version confirmed by a flier

It seems that the 256GB version of the Galaxy Note8 will not only come with quadruple the storage of the base 64GB model, but some premium goodies as well. There will be a promo in South Korea there that offers you a choice between an AKG Bluetooth speaker and a Nemonic printer (think PostIt notes with cloud integration). The 64GB model will come with a coupon for up to KRW 100,000 off accessories like the Gear VR or a combo of case plus external 5,100mAh battery. These are just examples, there should be more options come launch time. This somewhat ties into the report of Samsung offering...
