Bluetooth support is finally making its way to the Google Home

Do you own a Google Home smart speaker? If so, did you know it actually has a Bluetooth chip inside? Yes, really. Except it wasn’t activated up until this point, for reasons that are very unclear.

Anyway, here’s the good news: Bluetooth support is finally rolling out to a Google Home near you. This was announced at Google I/O last month along with a slew of other Home-related updates.

It’s a silent rollout, this, but there’s an easy enough way to check if your particular speaker has been blessed to receive it already. Just go into the Google Home app, and in the Device settings area…
