The Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus (or Redmi Note 5 for these who live in India) was launched in December last year. After it released, it came with Android 7.1.2 Nougat out of the box. Eight months later, Xiaomi has started rolling out a new update that brings Android 8.1 Oreo to the gadget.
