Samsung to unveil Galaxy J7 and J5 in India on July 16

Samsung-Galaxy-J7-01Following their launch in China, the Samsung Galaxy J7 and Galaxy J5 are headed to India. The company has sent out invites for a July 16 event (this Thursday) for the “Unveiling of the latest stars in the Galaxy series.” The event will be held in New Delhi, starting at 11:45 local time.

Both phones aim for the affordable segment and a love of selfies with 5MP cameras with wide-angle lens. There’s also a focus on connectivity with both dual-SIM and LTE, all running on a very recent Android 5.1 Lollipop. The one concession the Galaxy Js do is in the screen – the 5″ J5 and 5.5″ J7 both have 720p screens, which won’t win any awards for sharpness.

Samsung Mobile India also posted on Facebook and Twitter a teaser image with the title “Gear up!” so be on the lookout for additional Gear smartwatches.
