Samsung Galaxy Note 4

A report coming out of China details the specifications of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and it contradicts some of the earlier rumors. For one, it states the screen of the new phablet will actually be smaller than that of its predecessor, going back to the 5.5″ diagonal of the Note 2 (most previous rumors claim 5.7″).

The screen resolution will be four times as much though, QHD or 2,560 x 1,440 pixels. That makes for 534ppi pixel density. The panel will of course be a Super AMOLED.

The Galaxy Note 4 will be powered by a Snapdragon 805 chipset with 3GB of RAM (this is pretty much a given) but there’s no mention of the rumored Exynos 5 Octa chipset version. The phablet will allegedly launch with Android 4.4.3 out of the box.

The camera is said to be based on a 16MP ISOCELL rather than a 16MP Sony sensor as previous rumors claimed. It should record 2160p video at 30fps and 1080p at 60fps. The front-facing camera has been rumored as having QHD resolution (3.68MP).

Yet more rumored features for the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 include a retina scanner and a UV light sensor. The unveiling event is scheduled for September 3.
