KGI: 2018 iPhone X will keep 6P rear camera lens design

Often reliable KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said in a memo to investors that it is highly unlikely that Apple will integrate a 7P (seven-lens plastic array) or 2G3P (two glass, three plastic) design in the iPhone X successor’s camera. His statement is based mainly on the fact that Apple has the most advanced camera platform right now with the 6P design.

The current camera specs help the iPhone X to “strike a phenomenal balance between picture quality and form factor design”, says Kuo. Switching to a new design might improve aperture performance, and that’s it.
