Google app teardown reveals Pixel 2 squeeze feature

In a teardown performed by Dylan over at 9to5Google the newest version of the Google App 7.1.2 reveals a few new features that are coming to the upcoming Google Pixel 2 and Google Assistant alike.

The first and most significant clue in the teardown is the Google Pixel 2’s rumored “Active Edge” feature, which works like the HTC U11’s Edge Sense: give the phone’s frame a squeeze and you can summon Google Assistant. Here is the code that supports the rumor:
