Xiaomi Mi Note 2 rumors to have dual 12MP rear cameras, 4,000mAh battery

Mi Note 2More details about the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 – which is rumored to land in as many as three variants – have surfaced online. While we’ve already heard that screen-size will be 5.7-inch for all the versions, the new leak suggests that display resolution will be full HD for the low-end model, and QHD for the higher-end ones.

The leak also says that the devices will come with dual 12MP rear cameras (for higher-end models), pack in a large 4,000mAh battery, and feature a fingerprint scanner as well as force touch and fast charging tech. Previous rumors have suggested SD820 or SD823 at the helm. (more…)

LG unveils Marshmallow-based UX 5.0 user interface

LG unveilsOver a week after LG announced the global roll-out of its G5 flagship smartphone, the company has unveiled version 5.0 of its mobile user interface. Based on Android Marshmallow, the new LG UX 5.0 will not only be available on the G5, but upcoming LG smartphone models as well.

The LG UX 5.0 includes an LG Friends Manager app which the company says is the highlight of the new UI. It lets you easily connect your G5 to its Friends (accessories or modules) – not only it detects the accessories, it downloads and installs all the required apps from the Google Play Store as well. Samsung announces Galaxy A5 and A7 for India

Galaxy A5 2016The A5 and A7 are company’s mid-range smartphones with premium design and build quality. Both phones have a 1080p Super AMOLED display, Snapdragon 615, 16GB storage, 13 megapixel camera at the back, 5 megapixel camera on the front, and Android Lollipop, all in a metal and glass body. Only differences are the bigger 5.5-inch display on the A7 compared to 5.2-inch on the A5, 3GB RAM vs. 2GB, and larger 3300mAh battery vs. 2900mAh. (more…)

LG’s new K7 arrives at Boost Mobile as the Tribute 5

LG k7Today Boost Mobile, one of Sprint’s prepaid brands, has added a new cheap smartphone to its roster. It’s called LG Tribute 5, but it’s actually just the recently announced K7 with a different name. The new K series is supposed to bring decent design and specs to very low price points according to LG.

The Tribute 5 comes with a 5-inch 480×854 IPS touchscreen, a couple of 5 MP cameras (one on the front, one on the back), Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 210 chipset running the show (with a 1.1 GHz quad-core CPU), 1GB of RAM, 8GB of expandable storage, 4G LTE support, and a 2,125 mAh battery. Android Marshmallow beta test starts for the Huawei Ascend Mate7

Huawei Ascend Mate7Slowly but surely, Huawei keeps working on updates to Android 6.0 Marshmallow for its devices. And now it’s reached the Ascend Mate7 from 2014.

The company is currently looking for eager people to beta test the new software on their Mate7 units. There are some prerequisites before you can apply, though. First off, your Mate7 needs to be either the MT7-L09 model or the MT7-TL10 to qualify. You should also back up all your data before you install the Marshmallow beta, because things can always go wrong in such instances.
