Xiaomi Mi Note 2 screenshot shows 8GB RAM, 256GB storage

xiaomi-mi-note-2-11A Weibo user posted a screenshot of Note 2’s About screen, further stocking such rumors.

The screenshot shows that the LG V20 is about to have some company and that the OnePlus 3 is about to be dethroned.

Assuming no funny business happened to the screenshot (and that’s a big assumption to make), the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 will run Android 7.0 Nougat and will have a whopping 8GB of RAM. Also, the built-in storage is an impressive 256GB – not unheard of like the RAM, but quite rare. (more…)

The Xperia XR and Xperia X Compact may launch in late September

Xperia XRRumors about the new Xperia flagships – Xperia XR and Xperia X Compact – are mounting quickly. So far the thinking is that they will be unveiled at IFA (Sony’s event is scheduled for September 1).

With the unveiling near, the launch isn’t far away either – a leakster on Twitter hinted at the date September 24. On that day, Sony should unveil new Style Covers but “they are not alone.” (more…)

Samsung launches Galaxy Note7 in China with 4GB of RAM only

Galaxy Note721Today Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Note7 in China, at a special event. Despite many past rumors claiming we’ll see a version with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage in China, this was not mentioned at all in the official presentation. So the Note7 makes its debut in China with ‘just’ 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, the same values it sports in every other market.

The Chinese model is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset, just like the USA-bound Note7, interestingly (and not Samsung’s Exynos solution used everywhere else throughout the world). (more…)

Xiaomi Redmi 4 spotted in Geekbench

xiaomiminote2A mysterious Xiaomi smartphone has been spotted on benchmarking website Geekbench. Dubbed mido, the device is powered by a Snapdragon 625 SoC with octa-core 2.02GHz processor and has 2GB of RAM.

The listing also reveals that it runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box. Sadly, nothing else is currently known abut the device, although some reports say that the mido could be the 2GB RAM variant of Xiaomi’s upcoming Redmi 4 smartphone. (more…)

1As expected, Xiaomi has made official the Redmi Note 4 smartphone. The device is powered by MediaTek’s Deca-Core Helio X20 SoC (clocked up to 2.1GHz), and sports a 5.5-inch full HD display.
