Asus is expected to ship around 6-7 million tablets this year, according to a new report out of China which cites analysts. That’s down a worrying 30% from the 9.4 million units the company shipped in 2014.
The report also says that the Taiwan-based company managed to ship around 2.5 million tablets in the first half of the ongoing year, which is down 39% year-on-year.
Quarter-wise, Asus shipped 1.5 million units in the first quarter and 1 million units in Q2 2015, although its goal was to ship 1.8 and 1.2 million units in the first two quarters, respectively. The report comes just days after the company’s ZenPad S 8.0 tablet went on sale in the US.
