LeTV expected to launch its first smartphone in India on January 5

LeTV 1While we already know that LeTV is planning to enter the Indian market, it now looks like that’s gonna happen in less than a couple of weeks. The Chinese company has sent out invites for a press event scheduled for January 5 in the country’s capital city of New Delhi.

While the invite contains little information other than the event’s date, time, and venue, reports say the company will take the opportunity to launch its first smartphone for the Indian market. (more…)

Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Plus cases leak online

Galaxy S7Just over a couple of weeks after we brought you exclusive Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Plus renders, images showing protective covers for the yet-to-be announced flagship smartphones have leaked online.

The images reveal things like a rectangular home button, a bulging out rear camera unit, volume buttons on the left, and power button on the right. A quick comparison reveals that all this is inline with what the renders had revealed. (more…)

Flyme 5 is officially headed to the Meizu MX4 Pro, MX4, and m1 note, beta out tomorrow

Flyme 5Flyme OS is what Meizu calls its own skin placed on top of Android. And Flyme 5 is its latest iteration, which has so far only made it to the Meizu Pro 5 and the MX5. Yet if you own one of the company’s other handsets, here’s some good news.

A beta build of Flyme 5 will become available tomorrow for the MX4, MX4 Pro, as well as the m1 note. You won’t get the beta through an over-the-air software update though, you have to download it from Meizu and manually install.

OnePlus 3 to have a front facing speaker, leaked render reveals

OnePlus 3 2The OnePlus 2 has been out for a few months now, and it’s only natural that a successor starts showing up in the rumor mill. A render of the alleged OnePlus 3 has been leaked revealing key design changes.

For starters, the images (low-res as they may be) seem to show a brushed metal back instead of the signature sandstone-like panels. Both the OnePlus One and OnePlus 2 had those, and the material even made it to an iPhone 6/6s case, so it would be odd for OnePlus to abandon it for the next generation. Then again, the OnePlus X comes in a choice of glass or ceramic bodies, so sandstone already isn’t the only material the company uses. (more…)

Samsung Galaxy A8 for Japan with an Exynos 5433 SoC is now official

galaxy-a8-2Samsung has been hard at work, reimagining its elegant “A” series lineup for 2016. The Galaxy A3, A5 and A7 were all made official at the beginning at the month and all that was left for a full refresh of the lineup was the A8. Yesterday, the Korean giant made a new Galaxy A8 announcement, but, sadly, it is not the 2016 model we have all been waiting for, but rather a Japanese version of the existing A8. (more…)
